GW's Fixed Tuition

We are committed to attracting and retaining academically talented students who will contribute to our community. The university’s notable fixed-rate tuition plan, coupled with its generous aid program, provides families with financial assurance and flexibility when planning for college tuition. At GW, students do not need to be concerned about annual tuition increases and fluctuating financial aid packages.

In an era of annual double-digit tuition increases, the benefit of GW’s fixed tuition plan is proven. Up front it allows families to know the cost of a GW education, not just for the first year, but through the conclusion of a degree program. The tuition an entering student pays remains fixed for the entire undergraduate program as long as the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment and is registered for a minimum of 12 semester hours of study each fall and spring term. Students also get the flexibility of fixed tuition for up to 10 semesters of study, should a fifth year be required to achieve their academic goals. Undergraduate students who have been granted an approved leave of absence or continuous enrollment status will be held to the five-year maximum time frame.

Annual housing costs may increase but can be expected to be relatively stable and are likely affected by student choice of housing.

In comparing costs of education and offers of financial assistance, GW takes the uncertainty out of what the future may bring. GW’s fixed-rate tuition plan gives our families a long-term, guaranteed outlook, compared to most other schools that provide only a one-year financial glimpse. We recognize that making the financial sacrifice for a quality private education at a select university is not easy, and we are doing our best to make tuition management as predictable as possible.
